Mr. Josiah Sam George is a medical laboratory scientist with over 10 years of experience in laboratory work. He holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Medical Laboratory Technology and a Masters of Public Health degree from Cuttington University in Liberia.

He is currently one of the senior Medical Laboratory Scientist at the National Public Health Reference Laboratory of the National Public Health Institute of Liberia. He supervises the molecular diagnostic unit where PCR analysis is performed to detect several pathogens including Lassa Fever, Meningitis, Influenza virus, Monkeypox virus, COVID-19, Ebola virus, and Marburg virus.

He has received advanced national and international trainings and certifications in: Next Generation Sequencing Training for Genomic Surveillance (Ghana), SARS-CoV-2 Genomic Sequencing & Bioinformatics Analysis (Nigeria), NICD WHO Influenza PCR workshop (South Africa), Training on Malaria & Hemoparasites Diagnosis (Liberia), Third Country Training Course on Enhancing Laboratory Skills for Infectious Disease in West African Countries Post Ebola in Bacteriology, Parasitology and Virology (Ghana).

Mr. George is one of three laboratory technologists who will be responsible for sample collection, testing, analyzing sequence data and reporting
