University of Energy and Natural Resources(UENR)

The University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) – Sunyani is one of the two newly established public Universities by the Government of Ghana through the Initiative of His Excellency the late President, John Evans Atta Mills with the primary objective of improving the energy sector in the Country through Human resource development. Through the directives of the Parliament of Ghana, Two (2) Campuses were identified under the University of Energy and Natural Resources Scheme; Sunyani Campus and Nsuatre Campus, all in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana. The Sunyani Campus was to serve as the precursor through which Academic and Administrative work could be initiated whiles the Nsuatre Campus was to constitute the main University Campus. With approval from the Public Procurement Authority, Procurement and Project Management Consultancy Limited (PPMC Ltd) was procured and charged with the responsibility of providing design and construction supervision services on the certain projects at the Sunyani Campus as a precursor to initiate academic and administrative work. Below is a list of the projects:

• Conversion of existing Hostel Block to Administration Block
• Renovation of existing 3-Bedroom Bungalow with Outhouse for use by the Director of Development
• Renovation of existing Transit Quarters for use as Vice Chancellor’s Lodge
• Renovation of existing Guest House for use as Registrar’s Residence
• Renovation of existing Residency Block “A” for use by the Pro-Vice Chancellor
• Construction of New 3-Bedroom Bungalow with Outhouse for use by the Financial Controller
• Construction of a New 3- Bedroom Bungalow with Outhouse for use by the Internal Auditor
• Construction of New 3-Bedroom Bungalow with Outhouse for use by the ICT Librarian.

All the projects above were successfully supervised and handed over. The facilities were commissioned by His Excellency President John Mahama in December 2012.
